About The Position

The Accountant position at Howard Tseung CPA involves monitoring and analyzing accounting data, producing financial reports, and managing tax-related tasks for a significant book of Mandarin-speaking clients. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin, as well as proficiency in various accounting software. The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1 year of experience in accounting and financial systems.
• Fluency and strong communication skills in Mandarin, both oral and written.
• Experience in budgeting, reporting, data analysis, and tax preparation.
• Experience in preparation and filing of payroll and sales tax reports.
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills.
• Experience reviewing and analyzing financial records and reports.
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a tax and accounting environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software programs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports, tax returns, or statements for Mandarin-speaking clients.
• Review and process monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes; perform month-end close processes and generate corresponding documents.
• Prepare and ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
• Calculate, prepare, and file sales tax, mixed beverage tax, and franchise tax documents for clients.
• Analyze and prepare responses to IRS-related notices; review and prepare filings for new business entity formations and dissolutions.
• Research relevant tax law and regulations to file properly executed tax returns for clients.
