About the position
The Accountant position at DSG Tec USA, Inc. involves supporting the Controller in various financial tasks, including month-end close processes, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The role is crucial for maintaining compliance with accounting standards and assisting in financial analysis and audits.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Controller in month end close process including reconciliations and journal entries
- Process accounts payables weekly
- Submit monthly invoices to clients
- Bookkeeping data entry
- Prepare cost of goods sold and gross margin analysis reports
- Assist in financial analysis for monthly, quarterly, annual reporting
- Assist in quarterly and annual tax preparation
- Analyze P+L and Balance Sheet for accuracy
- Assist in annual insurance reviews, quotes, audits
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures, GAAP and FAR standards, and other US accounting and government/DOD contracts standards
- Assist with compiling annual US audit information
- Assist with contract and other Ad Hoc reporting requirements
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities on monthly and annual basis
- Assist with sales and use tax audits and state and local tax filings
- Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures
- Support the team in tertiary roles to create department redundancy
- Completes other projects and special assignments as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with government contracting accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP and FAR standards
- Familiarity with tax preparation and compliance
