About the position

The Accountant position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in Newark, Delaware. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records within the securities industry, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine and analyze accounting records to prepare statements and provide advice to management.
• Utilize skills in Operations, Quality, Pricing, Risk Management, Settlements, and Trading.
• Work within a center of excellence providing securities reference data to various business lines.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of data for internal customers.
• Collaborate with technology and operations change team to drive innovative solutions using artificial intelligence.
• Handle the sourcing, validation, mastering, and distribution of instrument attributes via the company's strategic reference data architecture.
• Support trading, risk management, fund valuation, settlement, and regulatory reporting processes with accurate and timely data.
• Play a crucial role in the success of the security services organization.
• Work on the delivery of asset reference data.
• Manage change requests with Technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field.
• Experience with Accounting Functions.
• Strong knowledge of Reference Data.
• Proficiency in Operations, Quality, Pricing, Risk Management, Settlements, Trading, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Securities, Valuations, Regulatory Reporting, and Internal Customers skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and data.
• Expertise in QA Management.
• Familiarity with Security services.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification such as CPA is a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
