About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team at Life Source International Charter School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting, particularly within the school district or charter school context. This role involves preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements, assisting with state budget reports, and utilizing various accounting software systems to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements.
• Assist with filing state budget reports, including first and second interim reports.
• Utilize the SAGE Financial System for accounting tasks.
• Assist with SACS Accounting and year-end financial closing.
• Support state budget and financial reporting, including the use of SACS Web Help.
• Help with student attendance recording and state reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Proven experience in accounting roles, particularly in school district or charter school related fields.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Experience with general ledger accounting processes is preferred.
• Proficient in using accounting software.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA certification (Preferred)
• Experience with GAAP accounting (1 year preferred)
