About the position

The Accountant position at Whole Person Care Clinic is a full-time role focused on managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a finance team to maintain accurate financial records, process payroll, manage accounts payable and receivable, and assist in budget management. This role is essential for supporting the clinic's mission of providing holistic and accessible care to individuals in need.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks online.
  • Perform payroll functions accurately and timely, including reviewing, coding, and processing timesheets.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts, managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization's budget, tracking income and expenses against it.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements by tracking and documenting expenditures and preparing financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of donor contributions and communicate with development staff for acknowledgments and receipts.
  • Collaborate with auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation for compliance with nonprofit regulations.
  • Prepare and generate 1099 forms for contractors in adherence to IRS guidelines.
  • Help develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that promote sound financial management practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks online.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • Experience reporting on federal grants is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work virtually, independently, and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
