About the position

As an Accountant at Freeform, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of a rapidly growing company that is revolutionizing the 3D printing industry. This position goes beyond traditional bookkeeping, allowing you to engage in essential accounting and purchasing functions, manage financial transactions, and contribute to strategic decision-making. You will work closely with leadership to forecast spending, manage vendor relationships, and streamline finance operations, all while being part of a dynamic team focused on innovation and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with leadership to forecast and track spend across key areas, including operations, engineering, R&D, and personnel.
  • Own vendor payments, payroll, leases, and other financial transactions that keep operations moving.
  • Assist with month-end closings, and manage accounts payable and receivable activities, supporting clear financial reporting.
  • Partner with the engineering team on purchasing activities, including managing vendor relationships, price negotiations, and purchase orders.
  • Contribute to financial reporting for board meetings, investor relations, and funding initiatives.
  • Strategize on improving operational efficiency, identifying ways to streamline processes, reduce spend, and improve scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Internship or professional experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) highly preferred.
  • Master's degree in accounting from a top university or college.
  • Eagerness to innovate and take ownership of projects in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Experience with finance and accounting as it relates to manufacturing, capital equipment, and/or hardware.
  • Experience working in an engineering and/or tech startup environment.
  • ERP systems experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
