About the position

The Accountant position at State Technical College of Missouri is a full-time, 12-month contract role within the Business Office. The role is exempt and benefit-eligible, focusing on various accounting functions to support the college's financial operations. The Accountant will play a crucial role in processing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with budget evaluations, ensuring the college's financial health and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices and payments
• Assist with maintaining fixed asset inventory
• Assist with budget to actual evaluation within the fiscal year
• Assist in communicating budget information with faculty and staff
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
• Prepare journal entries to general ledger for complex transactions
• Assist in preparing annual and monthly financial statements
• Assist with all College and Foundation audit activity
• Analyze and reconcile expenditure and revenue accounts for accuracy
• Prepare billings as needed
• Assist in developing strategies, policies, and work-flow to ensure successful and profitable operations
• Perform other related duties as needed or assigned

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in the area of business administration
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
