About the position
This part-time accounting position involves hands-on responsibilities in the office, focusing on payroll, maintaining accurate records of collections and receivables, and ensuring timely payment of invoices. The role may evolve into a full-time position, emphasizing collaboration and employee engagement to enhance organizational success and client service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process invoices along with supporting documents, verifying the accuracy of billing data and ensuring correct billing requirements are met.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Assist with audit fieldwork for both operational and financial audits.
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts.
- Research and correct account discrepancies.
- Assist with invoicing, collection, and reporting.
- Assist with payroll via ADP Workforce Now.
- Post payments and identify discrepancies in payments received, resolving issues and communicating when collection efforts are unsuccessful.
- Process and compare invoices to purchase orders to determine the amount owed.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations.
- Assist in compiling monthly reports for Program managers and senior accountant.
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting process.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
- 1 or more years of experience with payroll, high volume invoicing, expense processing, and accounts payable with advanced monthly reconciliation is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Proficient in Sage Intact, QuickBooks, ADP Workforce Now, and Excel.
- Ability to solve problems using research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, strong math skills, General Accounting Principles (GAP), and 10-key skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong time management, analytics, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred.
- ADP Workforce Now experience is highly preferred.
