About the position

The Accountant position at CarePlus New Jersey involves applying accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. The role supports the Finance Team and CFO with various financial-related tasks, ensuring accurate financial management and reporting within a non-profit mental health organization.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all subsidiaries
  • Reconciliation of key Trial Balance Accounts
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable; prepares invoices to outside customers, reconciles payments, prepares monthly reports for Controller/CFO
  • Prepare allocation schedules; completes monthly allocation entries
  • Complete monthly journal entries (Flexible Spending Account, Cell Phone Allocation, Investment Activity, Health Insurance Allocation)
  • Prepare, Reconcile, and complete all prepaid journal entries for the month; complete analysis as necessary
  • Responsible for all accounting for Care Plus Workforce Solutions
  • Work with bookkeeper and client employees on entering invoices, working with external customers and/or government entities, prepares sales orders, purchase orders, vendor invoices
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, including but not limited to Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget vs. Actual analysis, and any ad hoc reports as requested by Controller/CFO
  • Assist Controller/CFO in preparing monthly financial reports in preparation for board and committee meetings
  • Review and analyze contract expenditures
  • Work with department managers to prepare program budgets
  • Review and analyze monthly and quarterly spending; identify when budget modifications are needed
  • Maintain Fixed Assets in accounting software, including depreciation and asset maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from four-year accredited college or university
  • 2+ years' experience working in an environment that involves multiple projects

Nice-to-haves

  • Non-profit Mental Health Industry experience, preferred by not required
