About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Conduct financial auditing to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
• Utilize PeopleSoft for managing financial transactions and reporting.
• Prepare bank reconciliations to verify cash balances and resolve any discrepancies.
• Engage in technical accounting tasks, including the preparation of journal entries and adjustments.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization.
• Maintain general ledger accounting by recording transactions accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits and provide necessary documentation as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting or a related role is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in financial auditing techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar accounting software is desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
