About the position
Veridian Homes is seeking an Accountant to join its finance department. This role focuses on preparing financial reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting various accounting tasks within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Accountant will play a key role in the monthly financial close process and assist in job profitability reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly reconciliations for multiple entities and departments.
- Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries.
- Actively participate in the monthly financial close process.
- Prepare job profitability reports and review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, and other posting errors.
- Support departmental personnel with a wide variety of accounting tasks including transactional processing (sales entries, cost of sales, job costing, change orders, accounts payable, cash management, etc.).
- Effectively communicate with peers, customers, trade partners, and leadership personnel to facilitate informed decision making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
- Accounting experience in real estate or construction is preferred.
- Intermediate Excel skills are required.
- Proven attention to detail is required.
- Desire to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
