About the position

The Accounting Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support the accounting team. This entry-level position requires strong communication skills and proficiency in organizational tools, particularly MS Excel, to manage accounting functions effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounting group inbox
  • Process Initial and Renewed policies in a timely manner
  • Process Policy cancellations, ensuring approvals and proper documents are submitted before processing
  • Enter and deposit daily checks received and credit card payments processed
  • Review AR aging weekly to ensure payments are received and posted accurately
  • Process refunds of overpayment on Policies timely
  • Take and process payments from customers via telephone
  • Assist employees, vendors, or customers with answering questions
  • Serve as backup for other accounting functions

Requirements

  • 1+ year of AP & AR experience
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
  • Detail oriented, quick learner, professional attitude, reliable
  • Basic accounting principles knowledge
  • Able to communicate clearly and efficiently
  • Team player with the ability to think and act independently
  • Professional telephone etiquette
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Computer skills in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook required
  • NetSuite experience is a plus
