The Accounting Administrator at North American Trade Schools is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions. The position also involves mentoring junior staff and assisting with payroll processes, contributing to the financial integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and managing accounts.
• Assist corporate in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
• Support payroll processing by verifying employee hours and ensuring timely payment.
• Assist corporate office in identifying discrepancies and taking needed corrective actions to help ensure timely monthly closings for P&L generation.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data for reporting purposes.
• Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Assist in updating student payment spreadsheet and meet with students who fall behind on scheduled monthly payments.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of debits, credits, and general accounting principles.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage.
• Experience in payroll processing is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
