About the position

Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is seeking an Accounting Analyst III/Senior for our Financial Reporting group, located in either Owensboro, KY or Houston, TX. This position plays a crucial role in the preparation, review, analysis, and filing of both internal and external financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, along with a keen attention to detail, to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial documentation. In this role, you will assist with the preparation of Form 10-Q/K, FERC annual and quarterly filings, standalone reporting, and the necessary underlying support and disclosures. You will also be responsible for preparing various internal management reports and ensuring effective collaboration across all departments for reporting and regulatory matters. Maintaining compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations is essential, as is the implementation of strong internal control procedures related to financial reporting. Staying updated on changes in reporting guidelines and making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist in ad hoc projects and support financial reporting initiatives as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and produce quality results with strong attention to detail. Critical thinking, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills are essential, as is the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and adapt to changing processes. A collaborative team environment is emphasized, and the candidate should be comfortable working alongside various departments to achieve common goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation of Form 10-Q/K, FERC annual and quarterly filings, standalone reporting and underlying support and disclosures
  • Assisting with the preparation of various internal management reports
  • Coordinate and ensure effective and professional cross-collaboration with all departments within the company for reporting and regulatory matters
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations
  • Maintain strong internal control procedures related to financial reporting
  • Stay up to date on changes in reporting guidelines and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance
  • Assist in ad hoc projects and support financial reporting initiatives as needed

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Word

  • 3+ years of financial reporting experience
  • Midstream/Energy industry experience
  • FERC reporting experience
  • Workiva and XBRL experience
