About the position

As an Intern at C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contributing to meaningful projects that help feed local families and communities. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the operations within one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. You will work alongside other interns and C&S employees, allowing you to expand your professional network and participate in various professional development opportunities. The internship will take place over a full-time, 12-week period from May 2025 to August 2025, based in the Keene, NH Optical Ave. Office, with a hybrid work schedule. Your responsibilities will include supporting various areas such as Inventory Controls, General Accounting, Gross Profits, Corporate Finance, Commercial Finance, Tax, Shared Services, and Corporate Development. You will assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within your assigned department, support the preparation of presentations and reports, and collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency. Additionally, you will attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas, while also gaining exposure to department functionalities and developing positive professional relationships across departments. Completing special projects assigned by your manager and delivering an end-of-internship presentation to showcase your learning objectives will also be key components of your experience. You will receive training on current technologies used in the industry, including Hyperion, Excel, and Smartview, and work with various business partners across the organization. This internship is not just about gaining experience; it is also about personal and professional growth. Responsibilities

  • Support areas including Inventory Controls, General Accounting, Gross Profits, Corporate Finance, Commercial Finance, Tax, Shared Services, and Corporate Development.
  • Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.
  • Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates, and methodologies.
  • Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities.
  • Develop positive professional relationships across departments.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by your manager.
  • Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives.
  • Utilize and receive training on current technologies used including Hyperion, Excel, and Smartview.
  • Work with a variety of business partners including transportation, IT, procurement, HR, etc. that interact with your designated area of Finance.
  • Gain vital experience in professional development within a corporate setting.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited university.
  • In good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
  • Currently majoring in Accounting or Finance related programs.
  • Proficient with Google's suite of products preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Able to think outside of the box and solve problems.
  • Able to work both with a team and independently successfully.
  • Able to stay organized and pay close attention to detail.
