About the position

The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) is seeking qualified applicants for temporary part-time graduate teaching assignments in Accounting and Finance. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring students in a diverse academic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one or more classes as assigned, which may include evening and online courses, as well as weekend courses depending on student demand. The recruitment for this position is ongoing, and assignments are filled on an as-needed basis. Candidates must possess a minimum of an MBA with a concentration in finance and/or an MS in accounting, along with active professional industry experience. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a commitment to effectively engage with a diverse student population and provide mentorship to minoritized students, particularly those who identify as Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander. In addition to teaching responsibilities, faculty members are expected to conduct and submit assessment activities as outlined each semester. The Martin V. Requirements

  • MBA with concentration in finance and/or MS in accounting and active professional industry experience.

  • Evidence of successful mentoring of minoritized students, focusing on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in finance and/or accounting, or PhD in any business discipline.
  • 5+ years of full-time finance work experience.
