About the position
The Accounting and Internal Controls Solution Consultant at Deloitte is responsible for assisting government clients in optimizing their accounting and financial reporting operations. This role emphasizes personal and professional growth while addressing critical issues in finance transformation, internal controls, and compliance with laws and regulations. The consultant will provide strategic guidance, implement technical solutions, and support audit preparation efforts, contributing to the overall effectiveness of financial management activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with optimizing their accounting and financial reporting operations.
- Advise clients on technical accounting and internal control matters.
- Implement technical solutions to improve financial management activities.
- Participate in the development of deliverable content that meets client needs.
- Perform accounting research and provide guidance to government clients based on laws and regulations.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical assistance for audit preparation and remediation efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
- Experience in identifying ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial business processes.
- Ability to assist clients in analyzing projects and programs to identify risks and develop mitigations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience performing financial statement audits and/or auditability assessments.
- Familiarity with U.S. government financial accounting systems.
- Certifications including CPA, CDFM, CGFM, CFA, CIA.
