About the position

We are extending an invitation for an experienced Accounting and Office Manager to join our team in the bustling restaurant and catering industry. The role is based in Honolulu, Hawaii, and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including managing payroll, maintaining financial records, and utilizing accounting software systems. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing accounting functions and will be comfortable using various accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Enterprise. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the payroll process, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. The Accounting and Office Manager will also be responsible for preparing daily sales sheets and cash reports, as well as managing the Point of Sale system (TOAST) for the entities. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role, as is the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the payroll process for all team members
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring all transactions are up-to-date
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements
  • Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise for various accounting functions
  • Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets with complex data
  • Perform data entry tasks as required
  • Oversee the month end close process
  • Prepare daily sales sheets and cash reports
  • Manage the Point of Sale system (TOAST) for the entities
  • Ensure the on-site parking facility is effectively managed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in Accounting Software Systems and BlackLine
  • Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions
  • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Expertise in managing Billing Functions and performing bank reconciliations
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
  • Experience in Full Cycle Payroll management
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience in the restaurant and catering industry is a plus.
