The Accounting and Payroll Manager plays a crucial role in managing and actively participating in the accounting cycle to ensure that the organization's accounting processes are timely, accurate, efficient, and consistent. This position involves coordinating month-end accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations, preparing and inputting payroll, and managing benefit billing reconciliations. The manager will oversee salaried timesheet verification and submissions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and federal employment laws. In the finance and accounting domain, the manager is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting functions, supporting program requests by providing financial reporting and budgeting assistance, processing payroll, preparing bank reconciliations, and reviewing trial balances for accuracy. The role also includes recording and posting journal entries for monthly financial activity, coordinating information for the annual audit process, and leading the month-end close process. Additionally, the manager will maintain accounts payable vendor files and oversee credit card procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. In terms of human resources and payroll, the manager will monitor adherence to HR policies, manage the payroll process in its entirety, and coordinate with the payroll service provider for annual W-2 earnings statements. The role also involves monthly reconciliation and payment of insurance premiums, ensuring invoice accuracy, and overseeing salaried timesheets. The manager will also serve as the point person for YMCA collaboration regarding payments, reconciliations, enrollments, and cancellations. General office support tasks may also be required, including backup front desk assistance and attendance at agency meetings.
