About the position

The Accounting and Payroll Specialist at Morris Hospital is responsible for supporting and completing bi-weekly and year-end payroll processes accurately and on time. This role involves assisting Human Resources and managers with payroll and benefit inquiries, resolving issues, preparing audit work papers, and reconciling payroll systems such as Kronos and ADP, along with other general accounting duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Support and complete bi-weekly and year-end payroll processes accurately and timely.
  • Assist Human Resources and timekeepers/managers with payroll and benefit inquiries.
  • Research and resolve payroll-related issues and problems.
  • Prepare audit work papers and review payroll data.
  • Reconcile Kronos/ADP payroll systems and perform general accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of IRS, DOL, FLSA, and multi-state payroll tax laws.
  • Experience with Kronos payroll system and payroll processing, including benefits and 403(b).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel (vlookups and pivot tables).
  • Strong report writing capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with payroll software other than Kronos.
