About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting and Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting and efficient payroll processing, requiring a strong background in accounting practices and proficiency in payroll software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Generate financial reports and statements to support management in decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.
  • Administer payroll processes using ADP software, ensuring timely and accurate payroll disbursements.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee hours, deductions, and benefits.
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create, manage, and analyze financial data.
  • Develop complex spreadsheets to track and report financial metrics.
  • Automate data processes and create macros to streamline financial reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting and payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in ADP payroll software is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
  • Experience with other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Prior experience in a similar role.
