About the position

The Accounting Assistant at First Fence of Georgia plays a crucial role in managing accounts payable and supporting the accounting team. This position is designed for a highly organized and team-oriented individual who values integrity and excellence in a family-oriented work environment. The role involves various accounting tasks, including monthly reconciliations, invoice processing, and collaboration with operations to resolve discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable duties and assist with Accounts Receivable and Operations tasks.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of credit cards with the balance sheet.
• Review GL coding for accuracy and ensure proper approvals for accounts payable transactions.
• Process daily payments and post to customer accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
• Handle all cash application processes, including posting approved adjustments.
• Collaborate with Accounting and Operations to resolve discrepancies in posting and balancing.
• Assist with month-end close balancing.
• Utilize accounting software to debit, credit, and total accounts on spreadsheets and databases.
• Serve as backup for weekly Payroll download.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years overall accounting experience.
• 2+ years in the Accounts Payable role is required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, but experience will be considered as an alternative.
• Thorough understanding of general accounting principles, A/R, and A/P.
• Knowledge of payroll processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented.
