About the position

The Accounting Assistant II at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is responsible for providing accounting support within the Corrugating Machinery Division. This hybrid role involves processing invoices, data entry of expenses, and periodic reporting, ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices. The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various teams to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices for parts and sales in SAP.
  • Conduct follow-ups with the warehouse team regarding packing lists.
  • Update invoices with tracking numbers for shipped parts.
  • Enter billable amounts for freight costs and other information.
  • Complete the billing process by releasing, printing, and mailing customer invoices.
  • Enter invoices in applications such as ARIBA or COUPA as required.
  • Issue and record customer credits in a timely manner.
  • Process customer returns and track open returns.
  • Review assemblies' entries in SAP for accuracy.
  • Contact customers and vendors to review statements and follow up as needed.
  • Aid with month/quarter/year-end reporting for closing.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area and comply with safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in business administration, Accounting, or similar field preferred.
  • At least three years of experience in accounting or related administrative roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediary knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems strongly desired.
  • Experience with ARIBA, COUPA or similar systems preferred.
