About the position
The Accounting Assistant at IPS will support the Financial Reporting team in various accounting tasks, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes. This role involves reconciling daily cash transactions, preparing work papers, and assisting with tax returns and auditor requests, all while providing administrative support to the financial reporting department.
Responsibilities
- Support the Financial Reporting team in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.
- Reconcile daily cash transactions to ensure completeness and resolve discrepancies.
- Review and record daily bank sweep activity in accounting software (Timberline/Sage and transitioning to Oracle).
- Assist with the preparation of monthly work papers and other account analyses.
- Gather support documentation for monthly or quarterly tax returns within foreign operations.
- Assist with internal/external auditor information requests.
- Provide administrative support to the financial reporting department as needed.
- Perform special projects, analyses, and additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Associate degree in accounting.
- 5+ years of experience in general accounting roles.
- Experience working in a large organization with $500M+ in annual revenue or equivalent scale.
- Cash reconciliation experience required.
- Strong bookkeeping skills with attention to detail.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- US GAAP knowledge.
- Comfortable using Excel.
