About the position
The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting department by performing various accounting tasks, including managing sales and use tax exemptions, reconciliations, and journal entries. This role requires familiarity with accounting procedures and the ability to accurately process and record transactions using accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
Requirements
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus
- 2 years of accounting experience (preferred)
