About the position

The Accounting/Audit Manager at Myers and Stauffer LC will lead and conduct audits related to Medicaid cost reports and DSH surveys. This role involves analyzing financial information, performing reimbursement calculations, and preparing documentation to support professional decisions. The position emphasizes strong leadership, quality assurance, and mentoring of staff while ensuring compliance with Medicaid regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct cost report/DSH audits.
  • Perform final audit reviews of Medicaid cost reports and DSH surveys.
  • Analyze financial information and perform reimbursement calculations.
  • Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions.
  • Supervise staff to ensure quality deliverables within deadlines.
  • Manage the flow of audits through required processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews on audit working papers and reports.
  • Schedule field audit dates with providers.
  • Perform final review of audit fieldwork.
  • Coordinate staffing on projects to meet strict deadlines.
  • Provide technical knowledge and training to staff.
  • Mentor staff by delivering timely feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • At least 6 years of related experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience leading audit engagements is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well organized with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn significant information quickly.
  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with project management software (Pro Systems FX) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel based on client and business needs.
