About the position

The Manager at Myers and Stauffer LC will play a pivotal role in leading and conducting cost report and Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) audits, as well as performing final audit reviews of Medicaid cost reports and DSH surveys. This position requires a deep understanding of financial information analysis, reimbursement calculations, and the preparation of written documents that support professional decisions. The Manager will provide strong leadership on audit engagements, effectively supervising staff to ensure quality deliverables are met within defined deadlines. In this role, the Manager will assist in completing project deliverables and manage the flow of audits through the required processes. Quality assurance reviews on audit and attestation working papers and reports completed by other team members will be a key responsibility. The Manager will also schedule field audit dates with providers and perform final reviews of audit fieldwork. Additionally, the Manager will coordinate staffing on projects to meet strict deadlines and provide high-level technical knowledge and training to staff. Mentoring staff by delivering timely feedback and maintaining the security and confidentiality of all protected health information are also essential functions of this position. Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct cost report/DSH audits and perform final audit reviews of Medicaid cost reports and DSH surveys.
  • Analyze financial information and perform reimbursement calculations.
  • Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions.
  • Provide strong leadership on audit engagements, supervising staff to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Assist in completing project deliverables and manage the flow of audits through required processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews on audit and attestation working papers and reports completed by other team members.
  • Schedule field audit dates with providers and perform final review of audit fieldwork.
  • Coordinate staffing on projects to meet strict deadlines.
  • Provide high-level technical knowledge and training to staff.
  • Mentor staff by delivering timely feedback and maintaining confidentiality of protected health information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA certification required.
  • At least 6 years of related experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience leading audit engagements is essential.
  • Demonstrated high level of expertise with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn a significant amount of information in a short time-frame.
  • Effectively manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
  • Proficient use of applicable software programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with project management (Pro Systems FX) software preferred.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
