About the position

The Accounting & Auditing CPA Editor role at Thomson Reuters offers a unique opportunity to work in a professional environment without the seasonal pressures typical of public accounting. This full-time position allows for remote or hybrid work, enabling the editor to apply their public accounting expertise to develop and enhance audit and accounting solutions for CPA firms and corporations globally. The role emphasizes collaboration with various teams to ensure customer needs are met and involves oversight of project teams to maintain high-quality outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update unique audit and accounting solutions for accounting professionals.
  • Provide direction on electronic tools that offer practical, step-by-step instructions for customers.
  • Identify significant topics and practice problems, providing practical guidance and insights.
  • Oversee the efforts of project team members, including outside authors and in-house personnel, to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, customer service, tech support, and sales teams to address customer needs.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve their needs and ensure product responsiveness.
  • Assist with strategic development projects as requested.

Requirements

  • CPA certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in public accounting, preferably as a Manager or Senior Manager.
  • Broad-based technical accounting and auditing knowledge.
  • Strong technical research skills.
  • Ability to execute assignments in a timely and competent manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing information and technology solutions for accounting professionals.
  • Familiarity with customer retention strategies.
