About the position

As an Accounting & Auditing CPA Editor at Thomson Reuters, you will be stepping into a role that offers a unique opportunity to leverage your public accounting and technical skills in a professional environment that avoids the typical busy season challenges associated with public accounting firms. This full-time position allows for hybrid work arrangements, enabling you to work from one of our hub locations or remotely. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and updating innovative audit and accounting solutions that are essential for accounting professionals in CPA firms and corporations across the United States and globally. In this role, you will provide direction on electronic tools that offer practical, step-by-step instructions for our customers, thereby optimizing customer retention rates. Your technical expertise will be crucial in identifying significant topics and practice problems, allowing you to provide practical guidance and insights that enhance our products. You will also oversee the efforts of project team members, including outside authors and in-house content operations, ensuring that all deadlines are met. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with various teams, including product, technology, customer service, tech support, and sales, to ensure that customer needs are accurately identified and addressed. Additionally, you will communicate directly with customers, primarily CPAs in public practice and corporations, to resolve their inquiries and ensure our products meet their requirements. This role is not just about editing; it involves strategic development projects and continuous engagement with the latest trends and challenges in the accounting field. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to providing high-quality resources and solutions to accounting professionals, helping them navigate the complexities of their work with confidence and expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update unique audit and accounting solutions for accounting professionals.
  • Provide direction on electronic tools that offer practical, step-by-step instructions for customers.
  • Identify significant topics and practice problems, providing practical guidance and insights.
  • Oversee the efforts of project team members, including outside authors and in-house content operations.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, customer service, tech support, and sales teams to meet customer needs.
  • Communicate with customers to resolve their needs and ensure product responsiveness.
  • Assist with strategic development projects as requested.

Requirements

  • A valid CPA certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in public accounting, preferably as a Manager or Senior Manager.
  • Broad-based technical accounting and auditing knowledge.
  • Strong technical research skills.
  • Ability to execute assignments in a timely and competent manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic tools for accounting solutions.
  • Familiarity with customer service practices in accounting.
