The Client Accountant Manager position at Hammernik & Associates is crucial for managing a portfolio of clients and serving as their primary accounting resource. This role involves maintaining client relationships, managing financial operations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the main accountant.
  • Code client transactions and reconcile accounts in QuickBooks Online or Desktop.
  • Assist clients in leveraging QuickBooks Online for business reporting.
  • Coordinate and facilitate payroll processing, including W-2s and 1099s, through ADP.
  • Prepare and process sales tax reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain productive, professional, and trusted advisor relationships with clients.
  • Partner with clients to understand their business and provide ongoing advice and support.
  • Adapt to other duties as assigned to meet client needs and firm objectives.
  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses.
  • Utilize Sure Prep software to streamline individual tax preparation in coordination with the office.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Employ an intrapreneurial approach to client service, fostering good working relationships.
  • Build new and existing client relationships and show basic knowledge of client operations.
  • Develop and maintain communication with clients and peers, expanding a network of professional contacts.
  • Uphold the firm's ethics and consistently demonstrate integrity.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • CPA eligibility or Enrolled Agent status preferred.
  • At least 2 years in private or public accounting.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Mail) or Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • A positive, team-oriented approach with a ‘can-do' attitude.
