About the position

The Accounting Clerk III position at CTI Resource Management Services, Inc. is designed to provide essential support to the Travel Office for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Comptroller's Office. This role involves a mix of in-office and remote work, focusing on the accuracy and processing of travel orders, as well as financial reconciliations related to travel expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Review travel orders within DTS for accuracy and compliance with JTR.
  • Assess the correctness of Network Activity (NWA) entries for travel orders.
  • Route completed travel orders to the Approving Official for official approval.
  • Assign travel order numbers to non-DTS travel orders.
  • Research and resolve DTS rejections, identifying corrective actions for the department financial POC.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of the Centrally Billed Account (CBA) Invoice, ensuring ticket transactions match travel orders or vouchers in DTS.
  • Interview travelers assigned to Long-Term Travel (LTT) prior to their departure, scheduling interviews within three days of notification.
  • Conduct initial reviews of Long-Term Cost Analysis worksheets for completeness after meeting with the department POC.

Requirements

  • Experience with travel order processing and review in a government or military context.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Travel System (DTS) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation and reconciliation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Long-Term Temporary Duty (LT TDY) cost analysis processes.
  • Experience in a support role within a government contracting environment.
