About the position

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for collaborating with various internal departments to assist with clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting tasks. This remote position focuses on ensuring accurate financial processes and effective communication with customers and the revenue team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Customer/Revenue Team requests via email and phone, including adding POs to invoices, updating company names, changing customer addresses, updating contact information, processing credit cards, splitting invoices for multiple payments, processing refunds, and completing vendor setup forms.
• Process payments through ACH/Wires, Credit Cards, Stripe, and Checks; send payment instructions/links to customers; troubleshoot payment issues and discrepancies.
• Follow up with customers via email for collections; work with the Revenue Team; suspend customers; process write-offs.
• Collect and scan mail, sending it to appropriate recipients.
• Approve invoices and proof accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
• Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures, with the ability to train others in related practices and procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience with NetSuite and SalesForce is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
