About the position

The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks with minimal supervision. This role involves managing funds, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate reporting while providing excellent customer service. The position requires a strong understanding of mortgage and banking procedures, as well as proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Remit and deposit funds, balance activity, and complete reports.
  • Review information in the loan origination system (NetOxygen) and approve loans for funding.
  • Upload wire export files and enter manual wires in Business Online/Payment Center.
  • Balance wire batches with import.
  • Process checks in MSP and Checkwriter.
  • Process stop payments as required.
  • Deposit checks and process debit/credit card charges and refunds as necessary.
  • Complete manual general ledger entries for disbursement as needed.
  • Manage emails in the group email box.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Cross-train to support other funding colleagues.
  • Refer unusual cases to the manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1 - 3 years of mortgage/banking experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Accurate data entry skills and 10 key by touch
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Good organizational, written and communication skills
  • Advanced PC skills with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience with Business Online, NetOx, and MSP
