About the position

The Accounting Clerk at New River Electrical is responsible for performing administrative and data entry tasks related to accounting, specifically focusing on accounts payable and accounts receivable. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage routine data entry, review financial documents for accuracy, and assist with various clerical tasks. The position is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine data entry management for accounting records including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Reviews billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alerts supervisory staff of any discrepancies.
  • Posts daily cash receipts via ACH deposits.
  • Prepares, uploads, and posts desktop deposits as needed.
  • Distributes AR aging to responsible parties for review and comments.
  • Compiles results for management review.
  • Prepares multi-state sales/use tax returns.
  • Reviews job set-up for accuracy and performs job interfacing process.
  • May assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience with Excel is required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and time management.
