About the position

The Accounting Compliance & Premium Tax Administrator at Assurity is responsible for overseeing unclaimed property administration, coordinating state insurance accounting filings, and performing advanced accounting functions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks while ensuring compliance with state regulations and providing support for various accounting functions within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Leads unclaimed property administration and reporting, ensuring compliance with state regulations and monitoring developments.
  • Coordinates, prepares, and researches state department of insurance accounting filings and municipal tax filings.
  • Performs advanced daily and monthly accounting functions, including reviewing and reconciling suspense account activity and managing company credit card transactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum three to five years of insurance accounting and/or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance company statutory financial statements and existing regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tritech software for state specific accounting filings.
  • Familiarity with the CODE system for researching state insurance department regulations.
