About the position
CLA is seeking Accounting Consultants (Engagement Directors) for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. This role involves providing customized accounting support to clients, typically those with revenues exceeding $50 million, on an interim and project basis. The position emphasizes flexibility, variety, and work-life balance, allowing professionals to choose their engagements while delivering high-level accounting resources across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries.
- Design and improve accounting processes such as monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
- Take an active and hands-on approach in executing client engagements.
- Travel as needed, with more opportunities available for those open to travel.
- Select engagements that align with personal and professional goals.
Requirements
- Ten years of relevant work experience including public accounting.
- Prior industry experience as a CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting, or Internal Audit Manager equivalent preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field required.
- Mastery in Microsoft Excel and experience with various accounting software.
- CPA certification preferred but not required.
- Prior project management and exceptional client service management experience preferred.
