About the position

We are seeking an Accounting Controller for Construction and Technology to join our team. In this role, you will support the accounting department by analyzing financial information, maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments, preparing payroll, and other essential accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized with strong mathematical skills and previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting. This position is crucial for ensuring the financial integrity of our operations and will involve a variety of tasks that require attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting principles. As an Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for communicating with vendors and suppliers to ensure the accuracy of charges and payments. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments, which is essential for making informed financial decisions. Your role will also include entering financial data and transactions, analyzing budgets and other financial information, and reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy. In addition, you will prepare financial reports and statements, verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered, and process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Creating accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations will be part of your responsibilities, as well as processing payroll and managing job costing, work in progress quarterly statements, and internal company financial statements and evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
  • Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
