About the position

The Accounting Coordinator at HCA Healthcare plays a crucial role in coordinating accounts payable processing and providing clerical support within the finance department. This position involves preparing reconciliations, processing financial information, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. The role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of the healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accounts payable processing between facility and shared service center.
  • Prepare reconciliations and compile financial information for Methodist Healthcare.
  • Process multi-facility check requests and review invoices for authorization.
  • Coordinate bi-weekly packages to facility cashier and SSC.
  • Review non-PO invoices for approval and coding, routing them to the appropriate department.
  • Prepare and log manual AP checks as needed and research vendor statements.
  • Compile and process assigned accounting transactions during month-end close process.
  • Prepare assigned journal entries and ensure proper support and timely entry into the GL system.
  • Maintain subsidiary records and prepare reconciliations of balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Prepare audit and tax schedules as needed and assist with special project reports.
  • Coordinate records retrievals from offsite storage and maintain compliance with HCA Records Retention policy.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Completion of initial and ongoing training as defined by service line, facility, and department/unit.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of healthcare accounting experience
  • Accounts payable experience
