About the position

The Accounting Coordinator is a part-time role responsible for handling basic accounting tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position offers set hours with flexibility, allowing for a balance between work and home life, and does not require weekend or holiday work. The role is designed for individuals eager to learn about home health and contribute positively to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, development, and implementation of agency structure and policies.
  • Facilitates problem-solving sessions to resolve issues.
  • Participates in agency compliance reviews and monitoring activities.
  • Ensures preparation for certification surveys and financial audits.
  • Identifies agency/patient needs and opportunities for quality improvement.
  • Participates in the development and achievement of agency and departmental goals.
  • Performs all duties accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Confers with the CEO regarding issues that deviate from normal routine.
  • Oversees accounting functions, ensuring payments are completed and expenses controlled.
  • Prepares, analyzes, and maintains financial and statistical reports.
  • Prepares agency's annual budget with Management and Board input.
  • Monitors budget to actual and makes observations and recommendations.
  • Prepares and submits financial information for annual cost report to CMS.
  • Completes Accounts Payable transactions and assists with insurance contracting.
  • Completes accounting into the GL for payroll and works with HR on payroll issues.
  • Assists with annual liability insurance application and process.
  • Completes monthly financials in collaboration with FHS accountant.
  • Prepares monthly financial indicators and manages other financial requirements.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience working in accounting preferred.
  • Working experience with Microsoft Excel required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in home health accounting is a plus.
