About the position

The Accounting Data Update Consultant at ClearGov is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial data for local governments and school districts. This role involves preparing client-provided financial data for integration into the ClearGov platform, leading client meetings, and collaborating with team members to enhance client adoption of the software. The ideal candidate will be analytical, tech-savvy, and possess strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client-provided financial data (revenue & expenditures) for import and integration into the ClearGov platform.
  • Analyze the financial data structure and organize financial data to meet client requirements.
  • Lead client meetings to answer/ask questions and resolve issues related to client data on ClearGov.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with team members to ensure clients quickly adopt and see value from our products.
  • Prioritize data tasks to meet client deadlines and show flexibility to manage urgent requests.
  • Consult clients on best practices for utilizing data within our platform, and strive to minimize any risk of lost work for the client.
  • Make suggestions to improve quality assurance and team efficiency.
  • Provide support to other data team members in troubleshooting complex data issues.
  • Communicate client feedback to ClearGov product development regarding enhancements and usability improvements.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of finance, especially accounting and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of local government finance is a major plus.
  • Experience working with local government/school district finance administrators is a definite plus.
  • Experience working with data in spreadsheets or databases is a must.
  • Ability to communicate complex information at a technical level that is appropriate to the audience.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communicator.
  • Comfortable in client-facing discussions and meetings; client success minded.
  • Very strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Fluency in Excel is a must; knowledge of Power Query is a plus.
  • Eager learner who can quickly apply what they learn.
  • Experience with PowerBI/PowerQuery, SQL, Zendesk is a major plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with local government financial systems.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools.
