About the position

The Accounting Department Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the accounting operations of our top-rated CPA firm located in South San Francisco. This position is designed for an individual with a strong background in accounting management, particularly in public accounting, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial reporting and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall accounting, financial, and statistical reporting activities within the organization, ensuring that all financial information is accurate and timely. In this role, the Accounting Manager will manage the day-to-day accounting operations, providing leadership, guidance, and direction to the accounting staff. This includes overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements and monthly reports, as well as developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy of financial information across various functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and the general ledger. The Accounting Manager will also be tasked with developing and managing annual budgets and forecasting, which are essential for the financial health of the organization. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall accounting, financial and statistical reporting activities within the organization
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial information and reports
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information
  • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations and provide leadership to accounting staff
  • Oversee the accounting and financial reporting process including preparation and review of financial statements and monthly reports
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes to ensure accuracy of financial information including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasting

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Public Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting, financial and statistical reporting activities
