About the position

The Accounting & Finance Coordinator at Berico Fuels, Inc. is responsible for overseeing and assisting in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, tax reports, and other bookkeeping responsibilities for multiple entities. This role works closely with the CFO, controller, and accounts payable team, and offers opportunities for growth within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and help prepare on-time month-end closing processes and financial statements for multiple entities.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to the Accounting Department and manage various daily/monthly responsibilities including monthly tax reports and filings.
  • Manage preparation and documentation of all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare cash and accounts receivable reconciliations monthly, including daily reconciliation of EFTs.
  • Prepare quarterly Bank Debt Covenant Calculations.
  • Prepare and report necessary financial information and loan reports for the bank.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external bookkeeping audits and periodic bank site audits.
  • Assist tax preparers in the completion of tax returns (S-Corp and LLCs).
  • Assist other personnel as needed with various accounting issues.
  • Help maintain strong banking relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting with work experience.
  • 5 years of accounting experience required.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and financial analysis.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping, debits/credits, intercompany transactions, journal entries, etc.
  • Experience with accounting software systems and ability to obtain information from other ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fuel, Propane, Service (Trade) experience is desired but not required.
  • Communication skills and ability to work with operational departments.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work independently, and manage objectives without supervision.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
