About the position

The Accounting & Finance Internship is part of the Johnson Controls Future Leaders Internship Program, designed to provide students with practical experience in financial analysis and business operations. Interns will work under the supervision of a Finance Manager, engaging in various projects that support business unit results and financial planning. This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while participating in professional development and networking activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analyses to support and measure business unit results.
• Assist in the planning and analysis of quarterly forecasts and profit plans.
• Work independently and interact with regional and business group contacts.
• Conduct special studies including competitive analysis, industry trend research, and internal benchmarking.
• Lead a set of projects to gain exposure to different business groups within Johnson Controls.
• Participate in weekly professional development sessions and special events.
• Assist in the development and presentation of monthly financial results.
• Generate key operational and financial performance metrics.
• Present findings, results, and analysis of projects to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities.
• Effective communicator to all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills required.
• Preferred foreign languages encouraged.
• Relevant internship experience.
