About the position

The Accounting & Finance Intern position at Johnson Controls is part of the Future Leaders Internship Program, aimed at providing students with practical experience in financial analysis and business operations. Interns will work under the supervision of a Finance Manager, engaging in various projects that enhance their understanding of financial metrics and business strategies while contributing to the company's mission of creating smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analyses to support and measure business unit results.
• Assist in the planning and analysis of quarterly forecasts and profit plans.
• Conduct special studies including competitive analysis, industry trend research, and internal benchmarking.
• Lead a set of projects to gain exposure to different business groups within Johnson Controls.
• Participate in weekly professional development sessions and special events.
• Assist in the development and presentation of monthly financial results.
• Work with Finance Managers to develop supporting materials for forecast and profit plan reviews.
• Generate key operational and financial performance metrics.
• Present findings, results, and analysis of projects to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
• Highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities.
• Effective communicator to all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
