Responsibilities

• Analysis and reporting of financial transactions and statistics for Knife River Corporation and its subsidiaries.
• Compiling data and reports related to job cost and inventory reporting.
• Reporting system maintenance and report writing.
• Data compilation and analysis from the reporting systems.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for internal and external reporting.
• Preparing requests for external auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy, independent judgement, and analysis.
• Willingness to learn and/or assist in implementing new ideas and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal controls, and financial statement preparation methods and requirements, primarily as it relates to the construction industry.
• Interpersonal skills with associates, other departments, operating unit personnel, external auditors, and third-party vendors or consultants.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, accounting software (including JD Edwards), and ad hoc reporting.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or professional certification.
• JD Edwards and experience in construction and inventory accounting.
• Previous experience with report writing and accounting system administration.
