About the position

The Accounting / HR Assistant will play a crucial role in managing accounts receivable activities, including credit and collections, as well as cash receipt posting. This position also supports human resources with various recordkeeping tasks and event coordination, requiring interaction with multiple areas in a small office environment. The role emphasizes a positive attitude and a willingness to assist others, contributing to a collaborative workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable cash receipts and post to customer accounts.
  • Research discrepancies and reconcile accounts to the general ledger.
  • Conduct credit and collection activities, including establishing customer credit limits and resolving past due accounts.
  • Support accounting staff with daily, month-end, year-end, and audit activities.
  • Assist human resources with administrative tasks related to benefits, employee events, new hire orientations, and timekeeping.
  • Provide support to other areas such as Material & Production Planning and Accounts Payable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years experience in an office environment or office support role.
  • Prior experience communicating with customers regarding payments and past due accounts.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong thinking, listening, and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work well independently.
  • Positive attitude with a sense of urgency and excellent numerical skills.
  • Demonstrate logical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Dynamics365 is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in credit and collections (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in human resources (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in accounting (1 year preferred).
