About the position

Dierbergs Markets is seeking an exceptional Accounting Manager to lead the transformation of their Accounts Payable processes. This role combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach to drive efficiency and transformative change while supporting the team and customers. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, lead impactful changes, and foster a culture of continuous growth and development within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, including performance evaluations, training, and workflow assignments.
  • Foster an environment that encourages creativity and innovation in task analysis.
  • Oversee full cycle Accounts Payable processes to ensure timely and accurate invoice capture and payments.
  • Manage and enhance work processes to ensure timely payments while maintaining internal controls and best practices.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Manage the implementation of new software and testing of software updates.
  • Effectively resolve problems and issues concerning the department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' accounting experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years previous management/leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related discipline required.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experienced user of Oracle PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices and internal controls.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills; adept at assessing and balancing team workload.
  • Possess a sense of urgency and solid decision-making skills.
  • High level of attention to detail; strong time management and organization skills.
  • High level of integrity, enthusiasm, and positivity; able to maintain confidentiality.
