About the position

The Accounting Manager at Amazon One Medical plays a crucial role in managing various aspects of revenue recognition, accounting month-end close, and controllership initiatives. This position requires collaboration across finance, sales, customer success, tech, legal, and business partners to ensure effective financial operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and will be responsible for leading accounting tasks and projects while driving process improvements and automation opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end revenue process ownership to support accounting and business partners.
  • Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes for emerging business activities.
  • Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure timely month-end close decisions.
  • Escalate risks and issues to leadership as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership in all tasks.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change.
  • Lead the delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
  • Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of finance experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 7+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and creating/implementing escalation plans.
  • Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting data results.
  • Proficiency in Excel (macros, index, conditional lists, arrays, pivots, lookups).
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients.
  • Participation in continuous improvement projects to enhance controllership with measurable results.
