About the position

The Accounting Manager - AR will oversee all activities related to cash management and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance and efficiency within the accounting department. This role involves directing financial activities, supervising staff, and maintaining effective relationships with customers and sales departments to support business liquidity and operational success.

Responsibilities

• Establish objectives for the accounts receivable team and monitor invoice processing.
• Ensure timely collection of payments and supervise the accounts receivable staff.
• Process account receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Create effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and sales departments.
• Determine credit worthiness of new and existing customers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports.
• Manage projects to automate and streamline accounting functions.
• Analyze and maintain adequate reserves for customer rebates, returns, and bad debt.
• Serve as second in command of the department and backup to the controller on accounting matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Three to five years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated initiative, judgment, tact, and diplomacy while dealing with internal and external customers.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities unsupervised.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information.
• Strong computer skills, specifically Excel (managing spreadsheets, creating charts, and using advanced formulas).
• Experience with ERP accounting modules, notably NetSuite.
