We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller who possesses extensive and recent experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of supervising a department of five or more employees, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including overseeing the general ledger (GL), managing all banking issues, and ensuring a smooth month-end close process along with related financial reporting. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating quarterly and annual audits, as well as managing all profit and loss (P&L) functions. This position is critical to the financial health of our organization and requires a detail-oriented individual who can work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general ledger (GL) and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Manage all banking issues and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
  • Coordinate the month-end close process and ensure timely reporting of financial results.
  • Lead quarterly and annual audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Supervise a department of 5+ employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage all profit and loss (P&L) functions, analyzing financial performance and making recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Extensive and recent experience in the construction industry is required.
  • Experience supervising a team of 5 or more employees is essential.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise is necessary.
